7 Steps for More Recruiting Success

by | Aug 29, 2021 | Recruiter Training, Top Echelon Blog

Below are seven specific steps that you can take for enjoying more recruiting success throughout all of 2024:

#1—Identify Your Worthy Ideal

When you consider the fact that your success is dependent upon the “Progressive Realization of a Worthy Ideal,” it’s critical that you identify your worthy ideal.  You cannot realize a worthy ideal if you don’t have one.  An ideal is an idea that you love.  Often, a worthy ideal is referred to as a goal.  A worthy ideal inspires you to move forward, regardless of obstacles.  It’s something you are willing to dedicate most of your waking hours towards accomplishing.

#2—Become Decisive

Mastering the ability to make effective decisions quickly will help you reach your next level of success.  Making difficult decisions separates those owners who grow their businesses from those who don’t.  You can eliminate conflict and confusion in your life by becoming proficient at making decisions.

Decision making brings order to your mind.  This order is then reflected in the results you will achieve as a result of your decisions.  If you fail to develop your ability to make decisions, you could become a victim of ambivalence.  The definition of ambivalence is the coexistence in one person of opposite feelings toward the same objective:

Do it… or don’t do it.
Hire… or don’t hire.
Say it… or don’t say it.
Grow… or cut back.

Everyone, on occasion, has had feelings of ambivalence.

#3—Make a Commitment

Any decision must be accompanied by your commitment.  You must make committed decisions, which means you are committed to achieving a specific result and eliminating any other possibilities.

Committed decisions have the greatest impact in two places:

1. Your calendar
2. Your checkbook

No matter what you say you value, or even think your priorities are, you only have to look at this year’s calendar and checkbook to see the decisions you’ve made about what you truly value.

#4—Understand the “Law of Attraction”

If you want to live the life you deserve, you need to recondition yourself to move in the direction of what you want to achieve.  The “Law of Attraction” is extremely powerful and something you must study and understand.

The phrase “Law of Attraction” refers to the idea that thoughts and emotions influence chance.  The “Law of Attraction” operates under the premise that “like attracts like,” teaching that conscious thoughts and emotions will inevitably affect your reality.  Essentially, you will attract into your life what you choose to focus on, good or bad.

#5—Get Things Done

The world has always tried to identify men and women who can get things done—self-starters who see a task through to its finish.  It isn’t about how much you know, but what you get done that people reward and remember.

The greatest handicap to a person living the life they deserve is not the lack of intelligence, character, or willingness; it’s their inability to get things done.  This does not infer for one moment that this person is lazy.  In fact, often they are busier than most.

To live the life you deserve, it’s important to commit to getting things done and to see all tasks through to completion.  You don’t need to work harder or more hours; you need to work more effectively.

#6—No Time: Hire a Team

Keep a diary of what you do for two weeks.  Number your tasks and delegate the bottom ten to someone else, possibly an intern.

Evaluate your sales team and make sure they’re assets to your business.  Manage by numbers, not by emotion or past production levels.

#7—Plan and Focus Where You Can Make Money

This sounds simple, but the day can get away from you without you focusing one minute on activities that are revenue generating.

  • Write down six priorities closest to the money before leaving work.
  • Know your best business.
  • Develop multiple sources of revenue.
  • Stop doing things that waste your time.
  • Focus on your six revenue-generating strategies.

Follow this advice and you will improve the level of success you enjoy!
