Job Advertising Overview

Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network customers have access to a growing variety of Job Advertising options to get their positions posted on the web. This overview article will outline the various venues you can post your positions to via the software, as well as the three areas of the software you can initiate a posting.

Venues you can advertise your positions to via Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network are separated into three categories:

  • (1) Top Echelon Services Job Advertising – These are posting services related to Top Echelon Software products.
    • Posting to the Top Echelon Recruiting Software Job Board & Social Media Sharing (Available to Top Echelon Recruiting Software customers only)
      • This service is included with Top Echelon Recruiting Software and allows you to post positions to their website’s careers page after setup. Once advertised to the website, postings can then be shared via social media status updates on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to help drive traffic back to your site.
    • Posting to Top Echelon Network & the TEN Jobs Feed (Available to Top Echelon Network customers only)
      • This service allows Top Echelon Network Members to share their positions to other Network members in the hope of making a split placement with another firm. Once shared to the Network, you can also choose to share the job to other members’ websites via the TEN Jobs Feed option.
  • (2) Paid Job Boards – These are third-party posting services that require a fee to be paid to allow advertising.
    • Top Echelon Job Posting Tool (Available to both Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network customers)
      • This service allows any Top Echelon Recruiting Software or Top Echelon Network user to sponsor their job on various third-party websites through Top Echelon Software managed cost-per-click advertising. This service is a low cost alternative to direct postings on third-party websites, and also has subscription pricing available.
  • (3) Free Job Boards – These are third-party posting services that require no additional cost.
    • Monster Organic Posting (Available to both Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network customers)
      • This service allows any Top Echelon Recruiting Software or Top Echelon Network user to post their job to Monster’s Organic Posting feed. Please note: it is recommended that you do not use this service if already posting to Monster via one of their paid options (this includes the Top Echelon Posting Tool mentioned above).

Jobs can be advertised from three areas in the Top Echelon Recruiting Software and Top Echelon Network software:

      • On the Add a Job screen, look for the Advertise card in the bottom right corner of the page
        • Click on a venue to learn more about the required and displayed fields for that option
      • Check the box to the left of any venue to post there upon saving the job
        • Required fields for that venue will display a red asterisk to the right
        • Eye icons will display to the left of any fields that can be viewed by another party
          • Hover over the eye to see the icons of which venues will display that field
          • Venues displayed in the Recruiters section can be viewed by other Network members
          • Venues displayed in the Applicants section can be viewed by potential candidates through the indicated venues
      • When ready, click Save in the bottom left corner to both create the position and post to any selected venues
  • (2) From the Advertise card on the Job Datasheet
    • To advertise a position that has already been created within the software, follow these instructions:
      • Navigate to the Job’s Datasheet view (this is the default view when selecting a record)
      • Look for the Advertise card on the Datasheet
      • Available venues will be displayed, along with a posting status. Any status besides Ready to Post indicates that a requirement is missing, such as a required field or product.
      • When ready, click on the Post or Share buttons to the right to advertise a job on the respective venue
      • To remove a posting, use the red Remove Post icon to the right of any specific venue, or use the Remove All icon in the upper right corner of the Advertise card to remove the posting from all venues at once
  • (3) From the Advertising column on the Jobs Dashboard
    • Existing Jobs can also be advertised directly from the Jobs Dashboard with these instructions:
      • Navigate to the Jobs Dashboard by clicking on the Jobs tab in the Main Navigation bar at the top of the software
      • Make sure you are on the Open Jobs view by clicking on the corresponding tab below the Jobs Search area (this is the default view)
      • On the rightmost side of the Open Jobs view, look for an Advertising column
        • The Advertising column will display the icons of any venues that have already been advertised to for that Job. If the Job is not currently advertised, a “Post to…” option appears instead.
      • To advertise a job to a new venue, click on the gray “…” icon
      • An Advertise window will appear for that specific position
      • Available venues will be displayed, along with a posting status. Any status besides Ready to Post indicates that a requirement is missing, such as a required field or product.
      • When ready, click on the Post or Share buttons to the right to advertise a job on the respective venue
      • To remove a posting, use the red Remove Post icon to the right of any specific venue, or use the Remove All icon in the upper right corner of the Advertise window to remove the posting from all venues at once
      • Close the Advertise window when finished
