Logging Incoming Emails

By now you probably know that you can send outgoing email through Big Biller, but you also have the ability to log incoming email messages back into the software as well. Each user has an unique email address that they can use to assist them in quickly logging incoming emails, regardless of what external email client you’ve chosen to use for your business.

The first time you want to log an email from your email client, you will need to locate and copy your unique Log Email Address. To do so:

  • Expand the Sidebar in the top right corner of the page and click on the Settings icon
  • Click to expand the Email section and select Parse & Log Addresses

  • From the Parse & Log Addresses page, locate your Log Email Address on the left side of the page
  • Click the Copy Address button to the right

  • Now that you have your unique log address, you are ready to log email messages into your database right from your email client

To log an incoming email:

  • Navigate to your email program and locate the email you wish to log to Big Biller
  • Forward the message from your inbox to your unique log address
    • Paste (Ctrl+v for PC / Command+v for Mac) your log address into the To field
    • Once you have pasted and sent to this unique address once, your email program should remember this address
    • Moving forward, all you will need to do is start typing the beginning of your unique address (“log-“) and your email program should autocomplete the rest (no need to memorize that long address!)
  • Send the email once complete
  • Our servers will receive the message and log it on the appropriate record in your database, based on the associated To address of the message
    • This will be logged to Big Biller as an Email Incoming Activity Type

To log an outgoing email sent from your external email provider:

  • Compose and address the email as you normally would within your email client
  • Paste (Ctrl+v for PC / Command+v for Mac) your log address into the BCC field
    • Once you have pasted and sent to this unique address once, your email program should remember this address
    • Moving forward, all you will need to do is start typing the beginning of your unique address (“log-“) and your email program should autocomplete the rest (no need to memorize that long address!)
  • Send the email once complete
  • Our servers will receive the message and log it on the appropriate record in your database, based on the associated To address of the message
    • This will be logged to Big Biller as an Email Outgoing Activity Type
